Linksys has announced new software updates for Linksys Shield in the Middle East, adding, among other security features, content filtering that flags websites that contain adult, violent or undesirable content and enables users to choose which types of sites their children can visit.

Additionally, browsing protection feature checks sites browsed against a database of millions of known threats, helping to prevent users and their families from unknowingly visiting malicious sites.

Age-based content filtering is also included, as is the ability to schedule screen time and pause the internet on specific devices

Linksys is the connected home division within the newly merged Belkin International and Foxconn Interconnect Technology (FIT) entity.

Our partnership with Trend Micro allows us to put the control back into the hands of the user while protecting themselves from any potential digital dangers.”

The security service is available in two versions: Parental Control Subscription for AED 18.99 per month or one year for AED 192.99 that is available immediately via firmware and app update, and; Network Security Subscription that will be available later this year.
