CEDIA, the global trade association of home technology companies, has appointed Omar Hikal as Vice Chair of the Executive Committee of the CEDIA board.

Hikal is co-founder of Archimedia, the Middle East's largest residential integration company, which operates in five countries including Morocco and the UAE. Hikal was CEO of Archimedia until 2015 and now sits on Archimedia's board as Vice Chairman; he remains active in helping to develop the business.

The Vice Chair role was recently vacated by Giles Sutton as part of his transition to becoming a member of the CEDIA staff as Senior Vice President of Industry Engagement. Hikal will serve as Vice Chair until January 2019, when a new board will be appointed. Hikal has previously served on the executive committee as Secretary from 2016-2017.

"Omar has been an incredibly dedicated member of the CEDIA board," said Dave Humphries, CEDIA chairman. "We are fortunate to have someone with his vast industry experience stepping in to serve in this leadership role for the association."

Since 2017, Hikal has been the CEO and Head of Strategy at The Brand Company, a holistic brand creation firm that aims to "infuse brands with meaning, attitude, and promise." Omar is also a certified Gazelles business and leadership coach helping companies with strategic planning and execution.
