SUSE, a German company specialising in open source software, is proving popular with visitors to SAP's booth in Hall 6, thanks to its range of open source enterprise solutions.

The company, which provides software-defined infrastructure and application delivery solutions that give enterprises greater control and flexibility, is demonstrating how customers can accelerate their digital transformation with the SUSE high performance platform for SAP HANA, S/4 HANA.

"From high availability and zero downtime, Infrastructure- and Container-as-a-Service to software-defined storage, much of the innovative flagship technology driving digital transformation is based on open source and is part of the portfolio SUSE is showcasing at GITEX," says Paul Abi-Chahine, regional director, EMEA East, SUSE.

Abi-Chahine adds that SUSE is optimistic about business in the Middle East, adding that the company is keen to find new partners to tap growth. "SUSE's plans for 2018 reflect the dynamic of the market. Gulf customers rapidly embrace the opportunities digital transformation offers for their business," he says. "We are actively searching for new partners in the region to broaden our ecosystem for customers. For SUSE, 2018 will be the year of channel expansion in the region, ensuring together with our partners, that the right skill-sets are available in order to continuously deliver services to Middle Eastern customers."

Speaking about the show itself, Abi-Chahine adds: "GITEX offers us an excellent high-level platform, where we can deepen our relationships with our existing customers and partners while also reaching out to and engaging with new ones."
