Abu Dhabi-based IT and telecoms system integrator Emircom has opened an office in Pakistan and plans to set up operations in India. The company's expansion has been fuelled by an upsurge in demand for managed services; an outsourcing trend revealed by research firm IDC to have achieved a sevenfold year-on-year growth in the region.
"We have achieved huge success in the UAE, as our technologically advanced solutions have addressed the changing dynamics of our customers' requirements, and are also flexible enough to serve a growing customer base," said Michel Sawaya, CEO at Emircom. "We are looking to duplicate this success in India and Pakistan as the South Asian region is witnessing tremendous economic growth, and businesses are more aware of the need for managed IT and telecom services," he added.
The systems integrator assists organisations in developing a comprehensive communications infrastructure by providing technical services and custom solutions in the areas of networking and cabling, storage, security, enterprise infrastructure management, multimedia and mobility. The Indian office will take Emircom's tally of regional offices to eight.
"We will continue our successful approach of differentiating ourselves from other systems integrators by implementing a strict employee development program that ensures that our team have the high quality skills to implement advanced and complex technologies for our customers," Sawaya added.
Founded in 1984, 200-strong Emircom began providing telecom and network products and services in Abu Dhabi. Since then it has opened up branches in Dubai, Lebanon, Syria, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Sudan. The company carries brands including IBM, Fujitsu Siemens, CA, Cisco, McAfee, Symantec, Tivoli, NetApp and Navini.
